Bridged wireless

Ok, so I just spent 3 days hunting after a problem with my Linux configuration that turns out to be due to some “wireless expert” that configured a “wireless bridge” between three sites at one of my clients.  They became my client about a week after the quote was accepted and no longer makes any network topology change without consulting with me first (at least, not as far as I know).  Either way … if you want a prime example of why it doesn’t work, read on …

Calculating VoIP Bandwidth requirements

I’ve racked my head a few times now trying to calculate how big a pipe I need for various call concurrencies.  So I’ve decided it’s finally time to sit down and do the calculations for both SIP/RTP and IAX2.

Multi-account VoIP providers

In some cases one would like to be able to connect multiple SIP/IAX accounts to the same upstream server. Each account may have differing creditials etc and this can (with asterisk at least) create some authentication issues. Fortunately there exists some “solutions”.
